Using virtual namespace feature, users can instantly connect to their existing data repositories such as on AWS, Azure, or any other object storage and create a single unified view of all the data via a unified AWS S3/Azure Blob API.
It means that you can easily run the same workload with the same data repository, no matter where it is while saving the migration project and cost.
The data is available immediately after the configuration and doesn't need any synchronization.
Below is an example of a namespace that aggregates data from AWS S3 and Azure, and by default will write to Azure.
Please check this Video for more information on NooBaa namespace feature
1. Start with adding connections to your existing cloud storage accounts.
Navigate to Accounts -> My Connections and add connections.
2. Navigate to resources -> namespace resource and click on "Create Namespace Resource" button in order create a new namespace resource, which is an AWS S3 bucket or blob container native storage.
This is an example of two resources, one is AWS and the second is on Azure.
3. Now create a namespace bucket, that will link these two accounts into a single bucket in NooBaa.
Navigate to Buckets -> Namespace Buckets and click on "Create Namespace Bucket" button in order to create one.
Select the relevant buckets you want to point to (no sync or data migration will happen). Also, select the target for the write operation for this bucket.
Every application that will connect to NooBaa, to bucket aws-to-azure will be able to read an object from both locations, and while writing new data, it will be written to the default target, which is Azure in this case.
